About

Science Club

Science Club is an academic extracurricular club at Lynbrook High School. Its mission is to encourage intellectual growth and interest in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through interactive demonstrations, presentations and competitions.

Meetings are held every Friday at lunch in Mrs. Leung’s room, room 302. We welcome all students who are interested in science, regardless of their academic backgrounds.

Achievements
Lynbrook Science has historically had strong showings in numerous science competitions.

For the 2011-2012 school year, Lynbrook teams and individuals received the following awards and recognitions:

  • 2 Intel Science Talent Search Semi-Finalists
  • 1st Place Science Bowl, qualified for the national competition
  • 6th Place Science Olympiad
  • 4rd Place Science Bowl (Team B)

For the 2010-2011 school year, Lynbrook teams and individuals received the following awards and recognitions:

  • 4 Intel Science Talent Search Semi-Finalists
  • 2nd Place Science Bowl
  • 3rd Place Intel International Science Fair
  • 5th Place Science Olympiad
  • 5 Places at California State Science Fair, including two 1st Places

For the 2009-2010 school year, Lynbrook teams and individuals received the following awards and recognitions:

  • 2 Intel Science Talent Search Finalists, including 2nd place overall
  • 6 Intel Science Talent Search Semi-Finalists
  • 1st Place Science Bowl, qualified for the national competition
  • 1st Place Bay Area Wondercup Challenge
  • 2nd Place Science Olympiad
  • 3rd Place Science Bowl (Team B)
